Salman Khan talks about KBC, SRK and why he thinks KBC
should be in schools.

Tonight marks the end of Shah Rukh Khan’s first season as host of KBC and
to ensure that the very last episode is as much fun as
the first one, SRK has invited yet another Khan to
celebrate with him. So tonight accompanying three
Bollywood beauties is the original rock star – Salman
Khan. Paired with his girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, Salman
says he enjoys watching KBC. “I have seen quite a few of
these episodes and it’s a really interesting program. In
fact all of us – my nieces, nephews and my parents – we
all sit together and watch the show.”
Speaking about the show, we asked Salman what
preparations he has done for tonight. “Nothing! I think
I’ll reach the 2 crore target or go out in the first 2
questions. In fact I’m thinking the first question I
take I’ll use all my lifelines!” says Salman.
Salman, who had arrived to watch the recording of another episode prior to
the finale, was left quite impressed. Sitting backstage,
he seemed quite in awe of the entire set and the way SRK
was handling the entire show. “I’ve come here for the
first time today and I’ve seen the way they are shooting
it and I think what Shah Rukh is doing here is a lot
more difficult than doing movies. And as for the whole
show and the concept I think it’s extraordinary. I wish
we had this in school – that if we came from the first
to the third like if we were first, second and third we
should have got money as gifts. We didn’t ever get that
so no one ever wanted to study that hard because kya
pharak padta hain … but if we had something like
this in school, it would have worked wonders.”
Not many know of this, but Shah Rukh and Salman enjoy a great friendship
that goes back to when SRK came to Mumbai for the first
time to be an actor. He adds that he enjoys seeing his
friend host the show so well. “First when Shah Rukh did
KBC, I was kind of worried coz there are few actors who
take the initial days for a movie – say the Friday,
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday – but if he comes down
to TV that might affect his popularity. But the way he
has played this show its fantastic… it’s fabulous. He’s
just gone closer to his fans. He’s come across as a much
nicer and cooler guy. He’s come out with all heart.”

Shah Rukh has a message for all his KBClive users.
With KBC ending this week, the one thing on the minds of all KBC and SRK fans is
how are they going to be able to stay in touch and interact with their favourite
star? Will Shah Rukh still write his blogs and what about the messages – will
they reach SRK?
When KBClive took all these questions to the man himself, Khan said none
of his viewers have anything to worry about. “I’ll be honest and say maybe not
with the frequency that I have right now but say once a month or so I’ll
definitely be on. Because once I move on from KBC I have to go and finish some
of the work I’m doing just now on my film,” says Shah Rukh.
He adds that it’s only in the near future that there might be gaps in his online
presence as he will be going on a well deserved holiday after wrapping up his
movie. “Once I finish my movie then I am going to take a holiday and during
holidays I don’t even talk to myself! So that one month I will be away. And like
I said maybe the frequency will be less but I’ll most certainly like to keep on
being in touch with all the people who are on the site.”
So there you have it, direct from your host KBClive users, SRK will be
back!
I will be back for sure..

All the Action from week
twelve of KBC

Week twelve
involved a whole lot of excitement and not just for the ten contestants lucky
enough to actually reach KBC. Shah Rukh launched K.I.S.S. so that all his home
viewers could win 1 lakh rupees on every question that was put forth to the Hot
Seat Contestant. And if that wasn’t enough, we also witnessed one of the best
young Hot Seat contestant accumulate a good sum of money.

Rahul Kamdar, 21, from Pune resumed on Monday night with 40,000 rupees already
in his kitty. Slowly working through the questions, he won 12, 50,000 rupees.
However, not sure about the next question, Kamdar decided to leave the game much
to everyone’s disappointment on the sets. Well-mannered, intelligent and very
sensible for his age, Rahul was a treat to watch. He even left King Khan
mesmerized – no wonder he took off his watch and gifted it to him!

Next on the hot seat on Monday night was Pooja Agarwal from Kolkata. She had to
won 5000 rupees on Monday night. Pooja resumed play on Tuesday night. Having
prepared for over a year for KBC, Agarwal seemed quite prepared and knew almost
all the answers. But soon her luck seemed to run out.
She used four lifelines in four consecutive questions and sadly for her she
chose the wrong answer for Q.11 and lost half her winnings. Finally she had to
settle for 6, 40,000 rupees. Taking Pooja’s place was the jovial and fun loving
T. Paresh from Delhi who had collected 3, 000 rupees on Tuesday night.

Paresh continued playing on Wednesday night and managed to reach 3, 20,000
rupees but had lost all his lifelines by then. Unsure about the next answer and
with no life line left, he decided to take a risk and decided on an answer but
then suddenly changed his mind and froze on another answer. And luckily for him
this change in heart proved lucky thereby winning him 6, 40,000 rupees. The next
question was again a blinder and completely unaware of the answer he decided to
take another wild guess – largely because he was in one of the safest position
in the game – but this time it didn’t work out for him. The game ended with T.
Paresh taking back 6, 40,000 rupees. Next on the Hot Seat on Wednesday night was
Nishant Gupta also from Delhi. He reached 3,000 rupees by close of play.

Playing well Nishant worked his way through the questions on Thursday night.
Somewhere in the middle of the game, Gupta began to find the question tough and
he began losing his lifelines at repeated intervals. With one lifeline still
available he reached the question worth 25 lakh rupees. Almost close to freezing
on an answer, he changed his mind and decided to flip the question at the last
moment.
And for the second time in the week a change in mind seemed to work in the
contestant’s favour, as the answer that Nishant was going to select was the
wrong one. And the icing on the cake was that the new question that came his
way, he knew very well thereby winning the 25 lakh rupees. However, on the flip
side the game ended for Nishant at the next question as he wasn’t sure and
didn’t want to risk losing a large sum of money and rightly so!
We now have Mumukshu Mohanty from Banglore on the Hot Seat. Hopefully the last
week of KBC will prove to be lucky for her…
We’ll just have to
wait and see….

12. April 2007

When the third season of Kaun
Banega Crorepati was launched, the team at Star decided to make the
programme much more accessible to all Kaun Banega Crorepati and Shah
Rukh Khan fans all over the world. And keeping that in mind KBClive was launched.
KBClive - a one stop shop for everything related to the show – consists of a
five member reality team that’s posted on the KBC sets 24 x7 to bring you all
the behind-the scenes action. Speaking about the KBClive, Khan said the site had
enabled him to connect with his fans very closely just like he does on the KBC
sets.
“KBClive has been great. The thought is that there is a lot of interest and I
would just like to say that the whole team takes a lot of interest in what you
are saying and we try to reply back through videos and the written blog you get
from my side and the team and we say a big thank you to you.”
“I’ve had some great suggestions and some really positive thoughts. Some
negative too that they don’t like some aspects which is ok. Keep doing that
because it gives us a feedback. Not all of it we can follow – good or bad- but
it does keep us on our toes. We try to include as many suggestions as possible”
says Khan.
The team conducts interviews with Shah Rukh at the end of the shoots on a daily
basis to get his reaction on the days’ happenings. In addition to the exclusive
footage of the contestants and audiences on the sets of KBC, KBClive also gives
an opportunity to users to engage in discussions on a variety of topics as well
as start blogs just like Shah Rukh Khan.

Ladies and gentlemen… boys and girls…
welcome back!
I remember
shooting the episodes you are seeing this week and going
through a whole roller coaster of emotions. Last weekend
I was rejoicing Manoj’s brilliant play and then the
feeling got even better to see Rahul do so well.
I had a lot
of fun with that young man… his polite demeanor,
courteous manners, his intelligence… all of it played
sitting opposite him a real pleasure. I like youngsters
who are well educated, well mannered… who value life and
people and money. And I found that in Rahul…
After Rahul
finished playing he even distributed chocolates to the
people on the sets. I got a piece too Rahul, so thank
you! I do hope you like the watch and continue to grow
as a person and do well in life.
And then the
next day I had to see Pooja lose her money. It was very
upsetting for me because like I always say I hate to see
people lose and considering that she was doing so well
and for it to get over that quickly it was quite
disheartening…
I won’t give
anything else away about the rest of the week…but before
I go I want to remind all my viewers in India about
K.I.S.S. I hope you all are participating in it…
Lots of
love…

Pooja Agarwal, leave SRK very sad about her loss
of Money

Hot Seat contestant leaves with 6, 40,000 rupees.
In four questions, Pooja Agarwal went from being brilliantly positioned to
win 2 crores to losing half her money and calling it a
day to the game. After Rahul Kamdar’s exit, Pooja
Agarwal – a housewife from Kolkata – got a chance to
take the Hot Seat. Having prepared for KBC for the past
one and a half year, the mum-to-be looked ready to
answer all the questions. She and reserved, she worked
her way to 1, 60,000 rupees. Thereafter, began all the
trouble. In the next two questions, Pooja utilized two
of her four lifelines.
It continued to get worse for Agarwal. In the next question for 12, 50,000
rupees, Pooja was at a least risk position and was going
to decide on a particular answer. However, being unsure
she made a decision to use her third life line – phone a
friend. To add to the confusion, the friend seemed who
seemed sure about the answer gave an answer completely
opposite to that of Pooja’s. Thankfully, having gone
with her friend she got the answer correct and won the
money.
In queue to now win 25 lakh rupees, Pooja made an attempt to answer the
eleventh question. Not 100% sure, she decided to use her
final lifeline – 50:50 – to help make the right
selection. Left with two answers – one correct and one
wrong – Pooja finally made her mind and froze on one
answer. Unfortunately for her that was the wrong one.
Disappointed with herself and the end result, Pooja
Agarwal was close to tears.
But it was not just her that was upset with the loss. “I hate to see
people lose. When Pooja reached the Hot Seat she told me
she had been preparing for a long time to get here. I
would have liked her to do well… like I always say I
want everyone who comes here to win 2 crores and go
back. Sadly this time it was not to be for Pooja. I’m
quite upset to see her go like this and to lose her
money,” says Shah Rukh.

PRESS: 10. April 2007
Shah Rukh’s close friend and confidante Mushtaq Shiekh in a chat
with KBClive.
Of late Shah Rukh has been distributing his biography – Still
Reading Khan – to contestants on KBC. Written by Mushtaq Shiekh
the book comes very close to the real Khan and gives all its readers
an insight into Khan's journey from the streets of Delhi to the
pinnacle of success in Bollywood. Often seen with Khan, Mushtaq is
part of Khan's inner circle of friends and comes very close to
knowing the real SRK.
On the sets to celebrate the end of the season and SRK’s success on
KBC, Mushtaq gave us an insight into SRK – his friend.
How difficult was doing KBC for Shah Rukh?
I think Shah Rukh has done a hundred things in his life but after
long KBC was one of the most challenging things he has done. The
expectations, the hype, the predecessor, the format were all things
he hadn't tried. Also after long Shah Rukh was coming back on
television. So for Shah Rukh he had to give his very best because
the show had such a big bandwidth which he had to live up to and the
expectations were so wide. I have known him for years and I think by
far KBC is one of the most challenging things he has done and done a
fabulous job of it.
We see a very friendly Shah Rukh on KBC. Is that the real Shah
Rukh?
I think what Shah Rukh has managed with KBC is reduce the difference
between himself and the performer. When you saw him on films you saw
him as a character but when you see him on KBC, you will see him as
he is with his friends, when he is with family folk, when he is with
people he is comfortable with. The Shah Rukh you see on KBC tries
his level best to make the audience and the guest who is on seat
opposite him comfortable and the best part about Shah Rukh is that
when he wants to make someone else comfortable he becomes
comfortable himself. And that I think that is the segregating factor
of the Shah Rukh on screen and the Shah Rukh on KBC where he has
managed to bring more of himself onto the chair and I think that’s
what he has brought to KBC that no other host all over the world has
ever got – he’s got himself! He has been able to drop that façade…
he has gone beyond the make up – he touches your heart, he has
brought the human touch which is what I think makes this very
exciting.
Did you find any change in him as the season progressed?
Strangely enough I was there for the first episode and I'm here
today for the last one and I felt on that first episode itself that
it was like he was doing his second season. I never felt he was
doing it for the first time ever! He was so comfortable from day one
that it never looks like a whole transition to me. Yes, he seems to
understand the format better, he has become much more comfortable
with things like his posture or how he used to play with his hands.
Right now he is like a hand in a glove. KBC now looks like he could
get up /brA>from his sleep and go kachha, kachha - pakka, pakka. I
think he has made all these things so much a part of him that now it
looks almost effortless.
What has Shah Rukh spoken about KBC to you on a personal level?
Earlier when we used to sit and talk about KBC his main concern was
the reaction. I remember when the show began his first reaction
probably was ‘what will the audiences say, what will the people say
now that we were going into their homes?’ and luckily within a week
we settled in because everyone just doffed their hats and said this
man has done it whether it was his language or his humour or it was
his very warm approach. Whether it was kids, elders they all seemed
to have given him 2 thumbs up and an odd critic or two in millions
of people doesn’t really make a difference – in fact that critic
maybe added that anti wave which was good enough give him the
impetus to do more and I think his happiness has come through, his
reaction to the audiences that have been a part of his life – this
time with KBC he has been able to interact with them and he is
loving that the most because he has got reactions there and then. He
has got those reactions through TRPs, he has got reactions from
people who come and meet him on stage.
What has been the most enjoyable part for him on KBC?
I think one of his best parts on KBC is when he spends time with
people who come or he has danced for them on stage – interaction
which he has taken to another level which he keeps on discussing.
Like even now he was telling me that he is going to sorely miss this
and actually, strangely, why him we all will – I'll miss coming on
the sets, sitting down and talking about the show. I also will miss
it a lot because it had become a part of our lives!

Start der vorletzten
Woche von KBC vor der Sommerpause
09. April 2007
Khan is very happy to see Rahul Kamdar do well
last night.
After a gap of quite a few episodes we say Shah Rukh gift his watch to a
contestant last night. And what was more surprising that
he gave it to a contestant who had already won big.
Rahul Kamdar, from Pune, reached the Hot Seat on Friday
night following Manoj Pande’s exit. A young lad of just
21 years, Rahul was a bit nervous at the start of play
but by the time he resumed on last night, he was much
more comfortable and ready to play.
Slowly and surely he worked through his questions in a
manner that completely belied his age. Polite, courteous,
intelligent the Kamdar deserved to win every penny that
he walked away from. Shah Rukh, who had been a bit
disillusioned with the youngsters on the show of late,
was very happy and impressed with Rahul.
He spoke to KBClive after Rahul's exit and told us what it was about Rahul
that struck a chord with him the most. “Rahul was
fantastic. A 21 year old boy – well mannered, well
educated, well brought up, a great smile, quiet. He had
the right amount of intelligence and great usage of
that. He never showed disrespect to the money or to the
game. He played with a level head and without trying to
bigger than his age. He was just so sweet.”
In between the break, Khan who was still impressed with Rahul was seen
discussing how good natured it was of Kamdar to realise
the fact that if he took long the rest of the FFF
contestants could lose out due to the lack of time.
“Normally I give a gift or a watch to someone who
crashes. But here was a guy who did well. He quit when
he should have and knew the answer sort of. But I still
felt like doing this for him. I just was very touched
with the way he has been brought up and very educated. I
like youngsters who are so well mannered and well
informed. And I'm not being patronizing but Rahul was a
great contestant to play with,” says Khan.

Ladies and gentlemen… boys and
girls… welcome back!
So now we begin the penultimate
week of KBC this season tonight.
And keeping in mind the
countdown the team of KBC and I
have developed yet another way
to help you win some money.
Replacing Har Seat Hot Seat,
from tonight, we all will play
Khelo India Sath Sath… K.I.S.S.
– so what is K.I.S.S. you ask?
To put it simply, I want each of
you to answer the questions I
ask to my Hot Seat contestant
and based on random selection a
lucky winner can win 1 lakh
rupees. And you can enter as
many times per question you want
as long as you do it before Mr.
Computer declares the correct
answer for the question. And to
make it even easier, unlike for
the Hot Seat contestant whose game is over if he answers
incorrectly, you can continue to
answer questions even if you get
any of them wrong. For e.g. if
you get Q.3 wrong you can still
try your luck on Q.4 or Q.5 or
whichever you know the answer
for.

KBC 28.03.2007
to laugh with my contestants.

Mumbai: The flurry of
questions will stop at least for now as the sometimes controversial season one
of Kaun Banega Crorepati with King Khan as host goes on a break.
After giving massages to tense contestants to expensive Tag Hauer watches to
those losing on the hot seat to cars to all, the magnamous Shah Rukh Khan will
miss playing dost (friend) to the contestants and mouthing those one-liners.
"I will miss saying kachha-pakka (sure or not). I will miss saying 'let's play
Kaun Banega Crorepati'," says he.
The show has also been SRK's window to some reality - at least that's what he
claims.
"Because of the show, I met so many people. I got in touch with reality and
because of that my acting will become better," says King Khan.
SRK's duties as KBC host invited contant comparisons to previous host Amitabh
Bachchan and the TRPs of the show fell dramatically. Despite this, the host dost
will be back for the second season of KBC soon - or at least that's what he is
hoping for.

Now you know why it was so difficult

And the surprised looks on their faces… I’ll

And you know what it’s going to get more

SRK brings an unprepared Munnabhai duo for a
KBC special - 28.03.2007

Sanjay Dutt speaks to KBC-live on
KBC, SRK and his preparations for the show.
Shah Rukh will be playing host to one of his earliest friends – Sanjay Dutt -
from the film industry on KBC tomorrow night. And apart from the fact that both
of them enjoy a huge fan following and a long list of hits, the biggest common
denominator between the two is the generosity and warmth that's an integral part
of both their personalities.
Therefore it's no wonder that Sanjay has a glorious review to give for his
friend's performance on KBC. "He's doing extremely well. And it's so warm and so
nice. I think he was the only person who could handle KBC."
Sanjay feels one of the biggest factors contributing to Khan's success is his
interaction and warmth with his audience and contestants. "You got to interact
with the audience. You got to make them comfortable I think. You've got to be
really loving, kind and have fun and stuff like that," says the star that's as
famous as SRK for the very same qualities.
"Yeah, I am such a warm person. And I'm going to be so warm that Shah Rukh is
going to give me all the answers," says the naughty Munnabhai.
I think Shah Rukh has to do all the preparations. I just need the answers. I
think that's why Munna is on KBC today. There is a lot of warmth... I mean I
have really enjoyed KBC with Shah Rukh. And I think we'll have fun today," signs
off Sanjay as he poses for pictures with a group of students from the Columbia
Business School.

SRK and Hyundai gift
Santro cars to FFF contestants.

First it was watches. Then
it was autographed cricket bats. And now it's cars. It sure looks like
Shah Rukh is taking the KBC tag line – ek sawaal aapki zindagi badal
sakta hain - to the limit. Last night Shah Rukh Khan, along with Hyundai
motors gifted the Fastest Finger First contestants Santro cars – a first
ever on Indian television.
Let's hear the explanation behind it directly from the man of the day.
"Many a times the entire team sits and discusses that the FFF
contestants are all quite capable as they have made it through lakhs and
millions of people and made it up to here. And sometimes a day goes by
where they don't even get introduced on the show. And you feel bad for
them. Its just one question that separates you on that day."
"So Hyundai Santro decided that they would do something special for
them. And I think it's quite large hearted of them to do that. They
decided that they would give a car to every FFF contestant," explains
Shah Rukh.
"This is actually a way of celebrating the spirit of the nine or ten FFF
contestants who don't make it on the Hot Seat. So all the hundreds of
them who haven't made it... we decided to sort of celebrate that and
salute them. And so we said ‘ok in this one episode we will give each of
them a Santro car’ which I think is something that has never been done
before on Indian television. So it's a big thing!" says an excited Khan.

also got to meet the star. From clicking photographs with SRK to singing for
him, the Children had a fun filled day.
Arriving on the sets in the morning, they first met Khan who had gifts for each
of them. There after they all decided to sing for him. It surely was a moving
moment for everyone present to see the innocent kids put up smiles on seeing
Khan even though many of them were quite unwell. Khan himself seemed very
emotional at the end of the meeting.
Thereafter they were taken to the floors to enjoy the recording. Shah Rukh says
this is a very special show for him. “I was very happy to have these children
here. If I have given them a reason to smile then I consider myself blessed. But
more than them I consider myself to be a happy man today. I pray to Allah that
they all recover very fast and continue to live healthy fulfilling lives,” says
Khan who has a huge fan following amongst children.
At the end of the day all the children seemed very satisfied as they got to see
their favourite actor in person. Here's hoping the smile on their faces never
fades...

We start the week off on a fun
filled note with children from the Cancer
Association on the sets today. It was great to
have them over. Loads of fun and I was so moved
when they sang for me when we were spending some
time together before the recording. I hope they
had a nice time and can remember the moments
they spent on KBC sets fondly.
I also have a change in my
clothes today. Let me know what you think of
this look. I quite like it!
But there is yet one BIG BIG
BIG surprise in store. But I’m not going to say
anything. It’s quite difficult to not say
anything. But all I’m going to tell you this is
something never ever seen before on Indian
television. So be prepared!
And now as you spend the rest
of day thinking about it I’m going to go plan
the next lot of surprises for you…
See you tonight…
I love you… a lot!

SR "Puuuhhhh - what a crazy week
on KBC..…" 16.03.2007
Last night SR
were in good moods and he were a nice Mundu / Dhoti from the south India

It's been a crazy week on KBC…
I remember shooting for this week’s Episode and going through these varied
emotions.
Like I've always said I wish each of them could take away 2 crores… that each of
them could win and when they don't it gets me all upset! I know how important
this money could be for them and therefore when I see them lose it all in a
moment it makes me feel so helpless.
And when I see the youngsters… I just wish I could rewind time! With the money
they could win here they have infinite possibilities to do anything they want. I
often tell them I wish I had that kind of money when I was their age but I guess
this is a game of chance. You either know the answer or you risk it. And
sometimes the risk pays off and sometimes it doesn't. And I understand that but
to risk it when you aren't even partly sure and when you are at high levels… I
don't know about that…

C’mon India!
Indians World Cup im Cricket Game from
11.03. - 28.04.2007 in Delhi
I love sports of all kinds... I used to play hockey growing up...
football... and even cricket.
The World Cup began yesterday and I'm super excited. I can't wait for
India's matches to begin... and all you seemed to have the most exciting
evenings lined up. Not only do you get to have fun watching KBC and
right after that you all can get your teeth into the matches
And we at KBC aren't going to stay out of all the World Cup fun. We have
lots of surprises lined up relating to it on the show... I can't let it
out now. But like I had said earlier I have some surprises for everyone
– well, this is the first one of the lot.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day about the matches and he
was telling me about his superstition. For e.g. If he is watching a
match where India is winning he wont change his position. He won't even
get up to go to the loo!!
Do you all also have such superstitions when your favourite teams play?
Let me know…
And one request for all the wives, sisters and daughters let your
husbands, brothers and fathers rule the remote for the coming months –
but only after KBC is over. That's the agreement you can set up – they
let you watch KBC and you give them the telly after that to watch the
World Cup!
Lots of love…

What did you
think of Ajith? 12.03.2007
Ladies and gentlemen….boys and girls… how was the weekend?
I noticed something surprising on the blog this time around. I do love getting
your messages and they always have me smiling ear to ear but this weekend I
didn’t see any of you discussing Ajith’s play here.
He is our highest winning contestant and he played so well. I would have thought
you all would have wanted to discuss his performance with me. I think he did a
great job… he was so quick to answer every question. And above all that he was a genuinely nice man. I had the chance to interact with him through the game and
in the breaks and Ajith is a very simple man. I do hope that this money helps
him in life. But a part of me was also a bit disappointed.
You see I want every contestant of mine to come here and win 2 crores. Yes, each
of them. I think they are all deserving and then when he couldn’t answer the 1
crore question… although I was happy for him I was also a bit heartbroken.
Anyway that was last week…
This week I have forty new contestants all wishing to reach the Hot Seat and
more importantly win 2 crores. Who is it going to be?
Tune in and you'll know…
And just one quick note to the Indian cricket team as they begin a quest similar
to my contestants for the World Cup:
Best of luck guys! Go for it and give it all… and all of our hopes and prayers
are behind you. We hope to see you at the finish line.
Lots of love…

Have you enjoyed KBC
this week? It was a whole lot of fun if you ask me. Even on the sets the
audiences were great. They had so much energy and a great vibe going and it
really eggs me on when I record. Right now, though, I am enjoying a break from
recording. My kids have finished with their exams so we all are having a stress
free time together as a family. However, I do begin on my other shoot for my
movie in a couple of days. So I’ll enjoy this weekend and then its back to work
on the movie for me for ten days. The KBC shoots resume thereafter and that will
be the last lot of KBC shoots for me for this season. And I’m going to miss it a
lot. The entire team – Star and Synergy – have become family and we've spent so
many hours together that I can't believe we are already coming close to the end
of the shoots. I actually don't want this last leg to begin because once it does
then it has to end too...sigh... Well I'll sign off now but I'll see you next
week for sure. Till then take care of yourself. Have a great weekend...

On International Women's Day
08. March 2007
SRK shares his feelings on the status of women.
As the world celebrates International Women’s Day today, SRK who
has always been very vocal about his feelings for women, couldn’t stay behind.
As he celebrates the day in honour of women all over the world on his show
tonight, he tells KBClive that comparing women to men seems derogatory to him.
“I am very averse to giving messages on women moving ahead or doing better
as I sincerely believe that they are superior to men. I think the more we think
and say that women should be given equal opportunities as men the more we are
deriding the position of women. And so I don’t like to participate in that. I
think women are the most wonderful living creatures on Earth and I don’t mean
creatures in a derogatory way,” says the man who melts a million hearts.
However he hopes that education will help bring about the changes in those
areas where it is needed. “Of course there are instances and areas in India
where women are not treated equally which is sad. I am hoping that now that
education is now being made available to women also and the fact that there is a
lot more exposure via media and travel will help women understand their stock
better.”
“And there are a lot of people who are doing a lot of work to uplift the
status of women in our country and overseas. And I hope it happens. It is
unfortunate that some of the prathas and ceremonies that are a little untoward
as far as women are concerned and those should change. I think education is
making a big change in that and I’m very happy,” adds Shah Rukh.

Today I just want to have a Chat with you. Yup, YOU. As we reach the

was happening here as well as behind the scenes videos, pictures and
Interviews. But when I see your Response to our efforts Today, I am
overwhelmed.
I want to thank you for all the love you have shown towards me on the

I’ve had some negative feedback too when you have not liked some
aspects, which is ok as well. Please keep writing, because it gives us a
feedback. Not all of your ideas or suggestions can be followed but it
does keep us on our toes. We try to include as many suggestions as
possible, I promise.
I would like to say that the whole team takes a lot of interest in what
you are saying and we try to reply back from this video and this written

Special Episode "Celebrait Holi with Shah, Rani & Preity
Ho Holi hai!

Holi hai!
GREETINGS FROM SHAH RUKH KHAN
I’m super excited today. I got two of my
closest friends – Rani and Preity- to come on the show and celebrate Holi with
me. It was super fun and you’ll see it all tomorrow night.
It was great fun having both of them over. Not only did the two win good amount
of money for their respective causes but I also got to cover them in colour. But
the best part was that I got to scare them too. You’ll see what I mean!
But that also brings me to an important thing I want to discuss with all my boys
and girls today. Please do play Holi and have lots of fun but remember to be
safe and respect others. I often read about balloons with eggs and other not so
nice things being thrown on people in the name of Holi.
Have fun, play with your friends and family but keep it clean. The other day I
heard of someone walking for an interview dressed in their best when someone
threw a balloon on them from the top of a building. Now the poor fellow not only
got wet but couldn’t reach for the interview… quite upsetting.
So therefore play safe and play with colours that only come off by the time next
Holi is round the corner. Have clean and innocent fun…
On that peaceful note I’m going to run away and hope to catch you tonight.
Lots of love…

Happy Holi -
Du wirst sehen, was ich
meine!
Familie doch bitte haltet alles sauber.
Lots of love…

How was the weekend? What did you do? Like I told you I was off from shooting so
I spent time with family.
But now I’m back on the sets this week and recording away. But I’m super excited
about the episodes coming up this week for you all. All this week we are going
to be celebrating Holi on the show. So I have a plate full of gulaal and some
yummy Indian mithai by my side on the KBC set.
I’ve always enjoyed playing Holi but often due to our shoots I don’t get the
time to do it. However, this time around I’ll get to play it for an entire week.
How cool is that?!

Happy HOLI for you all Shah Rukh and RoMaSha
Do you have anything special that you do to celebrate Holi? And my fans that
don’t live in India –do you celebrate it? And if you do, what do you do?
And if Holi is not a part of you culture do you have a festival that is similar

I’m off from shoots for a few days and it feels great to have some time for
myself to spend with family and friends.
But I don’t know about my wife though – she is used to me being out of the house
so much that when I am around she says it’s almost like looking after 3 kids! I
think most wives feel that way when their husbands are at home… (Or am I just
trying to convince myself?)
So what have I been doing in my break?
I’ve been catching up on some much needed sleep. I have also been trying to get
back on my exercise regime – the past couple of weeks it’s been very busy and I
haven’t had the chance to work out. So now that I had time I decided to hit the
gym again. And the best part of my time off has been spending time with my son
and daughter. It’s been a lot of fun – playing games, reading books and
generally running around the house driving Gauri mad.
On the show I did have some great fun this week. Although Hafeez and Bapu
crashing is something I could have done without! But all in all it was a great
week and I wish all my contestants went hope happy with their experience on the
show. I surely enjoyed playing with them.
Now I’m gonna run and I’ll see you next week.
I love you.

Too many emotions on the Hot Seat
Ladies and Gentlemen….boys and girls… Welcome back…
It’s been a rollercoaster week as yet for me on KBC. We started the week with
rollover contestant from last week Dr. Prashant Mannur who played very well if
you ask me. Considering the shaky start he had I think he went onto do very well
for himself.
Next on the hot seat was Hafeez and I don’t know what happened to him. He was an
intelligent boy and he could have gone onto win big. He was doing so well and he
had lifelines with him too… but that was not to be. I don’t like people losing
and it upsets me a lot!
And then last night Bapu… I honestly thought he would go onto win really big.
Both he and his wife had come with so many aspirations and dreams for their
daughters’ weddings and I wish he could have taken the entire 2 crores. Sadly it
was not to be… I do wish him and his family the very best and I hope that they
all have a brilliant life ahead.
But sitting with him hear him talk about his daughters it made me think about
something else too. I’m sure you all know I have two kids. And I do love both of
them immensely and I doubt there is anything that I wouldn’t do for any of them
but you know as far as father are concerned we have a real soft corner for our
daughters. I think all fathers will agree to this. It’s not that we love our
sons any less! But our daughters … that’s a different Story all together and
therefore last night when Bapu mentioned that he wanted to use the money for his
daughters’ weddings it just struck a chord somewhere…
It's very difficult to explain but I'm sure you all know exactly what I mean!
At this note I will log off… but I will be seeing you tonight.
Main aapka intezaar kar raha hoon…

I hope you and your family had a great weekend. Mine was quite good although I
spent large amount of it planning my week… This week is going to be quite hectic
for me as I have to finish a bank of KBC episodes including the Holi Special –
and let me tell you this Holi rocked! (more on that in a few days) - plus I have
my son’s sports’ day which I will be attending as well as other commitments.
What do you have planned this week?
Also before I go I wanted to let you know that I am reading all the messages you
all are leaving for me. I do read them as often as I can - it’s nice to know
that I entertain so many people all over the world. It’s not an easy job – but I
love it and thank you all once again!
Have to run now but I’ll see you soon… I’ll be waiting for you.

SRK has been collecting endless gifts from his fans on KBC.

There's a famous English saying – 'Do unto others as you would have done to
you.' And it can't be truer than in the case of Shah Rukh Khan. Famous for his
generosity and passion for gifting things to his friends and more recently the
KBC contestants, SRK is now on the receiving end!
Khan is constantly inundated these days with gifts, cards, posters,
post-cards, scrap books and other memorabilia of the star.
And who gives him all this? None other than the contestants and audiences on
KBC.
Being the man that he is, Shah Rukh finds it impossible to say no to any
one of them. He makes it a point to take them all with him. Initially the gifts
like scrapbooks, poems and messages from KBClive adorn his den on the sets and
then every few days he replaces them with the latest lot.
And what does he do with the old ones?
He takes them home with him and has them all stored in his den in Mannat.
Considering the number of gifts he has already received since the shoots began
the only thing we can say is that it better be a huge den!

Shah Rukh's Feedback after Valentines Day 16.02.2007

Ladies and gentlemen... boys and girls... welcome back to
KBClive.
Have you had a good week?
And boys and girls, have you been studying for your exams?
Thanks for all your great responses to the Valentine's Day special... I've been getting some great feedback so I'm happy I'm made you smile.
But a lot of people are also asking me why these six?
Well let me tell you it's not because I have only six friends in the industry
and it's not because I only talk to these six! I basically wanted to design the
programme in such a way that I can show the different ways that we can celebrate
love. And therefore I invited these different combinations.
Arbaaz is one of my oldest friends from the industry. In fact his entire family
was very nice and kind to me. When I came to Mumbai I didn't have any cooking
arrangements or kitchen so I used to go to their house and all of them – Arbaaz,
Sohail, Salman, Salim uncle … they were all so nice. And then Arbaaz got married
to Malaika. Malaika and I go back a long way – she did her first movie with me
and from then on our relationship has only gotten stronger. We live close by and
meet up often.
They are a great couple. Farhan and Zoya are again a very intelligent Duo. They
are also very keen on games especially board games. Often we all sit and play
for long hours. I felt this would have been a perfect place to invite this
brother – sister to match their wits.
And what can I say about Farah and Karan – they are like family to me. No, in
Fact they are family. Even when we work together, it’s never like work. We all
love to sit together and have a laugh. And the way you saw things on the set is
exactly how we are off it too. We just can't help ourselves. We just can't be
serious! So therefore I invited these three couples – I felt it was a great way
to get some of my friends together and above all it's for a great cause.
So all in all I think we had a great day keeping in mind the essence of
Valentines Day of spreading love and joy!
On that note I'm going to leave you Today but I promise to be back next week.
Till then have a great weekend and look after yourselves.
I love you...

Valentines Day! 14.02.2007
Ladies
and Gentlemen….boys and girls… Happy Valentines Day!

What are your plans for today? Something special?
I have a very special episode for you tonight with some of my closest friends –
a beautiful couple, a fantastic brother-sister duo and a crazy pair of friends
who can’t agree on anything other than the fact that they love each other
immensely! But that’s love for you in all of its varied forms…
According to me love is one of the purest and most wonderful emotion any human
being can ever feel. We don’t know what that one thing is that attracts us to
someone or your mum’s one habit which normally irritates you but then you miss
it if she isn’t around or your brother’s big bear hug that you would normally
push away but totally crave when he isn’t around…
And I know I might sound all starry eyed today but that’s exactly what I tried
to say in my last blog as well am trying to say again today is that don’t wait
for one day in the year to show your love and appreciation.
Let every day be a Mother’s Day, a Father’s Day, a Sister’s Day, a Brother’s
Day, a Lover’s Day, a Best Friend’s Day… know what I mean?
So go out there and starting today meet everyone with all the love you have
stored in you. I know you have plenty of it as I have experienced your love
myself every single day!
You know people comment on my hugging everyone on the show but that’s how I am
off the sets too! I am still to meet someone and not hug them when I meet them
or atleast when we are parting ways. I can't help it – my head and heart are
programmed like that!
Tonight’s episode has kept me busy and I hope you like what you see. Do come
back and let me know what you think…
Now I better go – my wife and my kids are calling me…
Lots of love

21.01.2007 Interview with Shah Rukh
before start KBC
It’s been quiet unpredictable and energising so far. Till we
actually start shooting an episode, we don`t know how it will actually turn out.
What are your thoughts then as you go on air?
All I would tell the viewer is to watch the show as a new one. Without placing
it on a pedestal or pulling it down. We have worked very hard on the show. The
channel, the production team and I have done every little thing to make it as
entertaining as possible.
I have even done a music video in which I have tried to be “Cool” witch will be
aired just before the episode.
Since you have been on both, which is more demon
ding – the hot seat or the host’s chair?

I wouldn’t say I have been on the hot seat – simply because the last time I was
on the show, I was invited to be there. But contestants really have to work hard
to be in the hot seat.
Did your son Aryan give you any tips about how
to perform, considering the fact that he’s a huge fan of the show? It seems you
also had mock quiz sessions with him and his friends?
My son and daughter do not like me dressed up formally in suits and ties, which
I do for KBC. They prefer to see me in jeans. We enjoy playing questions and
answered together. They also come on the sets to see me. My family is with me,
they love the show and the fact that I am on it.
The tagline “Nau baj gaye kya? Was synonymous
with the earlier KBC. What is yours?
It is mainly going to be “Kar le kar le tu ek sawaal” but we have introduced
some new elements… like I speak in Haryanvi whenever there is a contestant from
Haryana. And I have use words like “alat palat” when a contestant asks for a
change in question.

Everyone at Star TV and you have gone out on a limb for KBC – is there too much
pressure..a point to prove?
Yes, the stakes are very high. We have worked hard towards making it a success.
There is anxiety. Unlike a film, which releases on a Friday, gets over and done
with, every KBC episode is like a film.
You don`t know how the audience will react. There is a certain amount of
pressure but we are enjoining it. Whether it is the channel or the production
house or me, all of us want do deliver.
Where and whom are you going to watch the first
episode with?
My family is not here, so I guess I will watch the first episode with the Star
TV team.
Reports about the Bachchan-Shah Rukh war do not seem to stop.
What can I say? No matter what I say, some people like to indulge in stupid
talk. The best way to react is not to say anything.
Will you invite Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai for a celebrity special
episode?

It is the prerogative of the production house and the channel to invite whomever
they want to. Yes, there are plans to have those celebrity specials like
“Friends of Shah Rukh”, Hit pairs” and “Couples”, I Haven not shot any specials
but when the channel decides to invite someone, I will extend a personal
invitation too.
But if you ask me, personally I am enjoying talking to the common man more than
anyone else.
Okay, Koffee with Karan will start up soon and you will feature on the inaugural
episode with Kajol and Rani Mukherjee. Karan and you are friends and you have
shows on the same channel.
I am happy for Karan because he is a wonderful and established show host. I hope
I am half as good as Karan is.
Can you tell me about your new film Om Shanti
Om?
I have started shooting for it. It is a musical set in the “70s. Besides me,
there is Deepika Padukone,, Arjun Rampal, Kirron Kher, Shreyas Talpade in Key
roles. It has (director) Farah Khan`s brand of humour just like Main Hoon Na.
Will Sushmita Sen be there too?
Well, we just might ask her to be there too. There is a sequence in which we
want to get some of the Main Hoon Na cast
Members like Binduji, Boman Irani..yes so Sushmita too may be part of it.
Finally, there is news of Star CEO Sameer Nair
quitting the channel. Does that affect you since you might have have a Agreed to
do KBC because of him and Star?

These days, it is a little difficult to believe every piece of news you read or
hear. Sameer has not yet told me he is Quitting. He is been with me every day at
the shoots.
We have been working on the edits together. But it does affect me. I have known
Sameer for a very long time. He is a Nice guy, more a production man than a
corporate guy. He is hands-on and he has some great ideas.
Wherever he goes, he will be an asset to that company.
Yes, I agreed to be part of KBC because of Sameer and Stars As you put it…but
even if he quits tomorrow, I will have to see my contract through. I am
committed to Star TV.
Still it would be nicer to have Sameer with me till I complete the show.

Ladies and Gentlemen….boys and girls… thank you for stopping by kbclive.com.
The past week has been quite a whirlwind and I went through a whole lot of
emotions – from excitement to ecstasy, from heart break to heart stopping
moments. I don't want to spoil all your fun so I won't give away too many
details but I do feel that the new KBC season that lays ahead both of us is
going to be noting short of a rollercoaster ride. And I do hope I get a chance
to hold your hand through it!
Honestly speaking the recording of the first episode was a moment we were all
waiting and working for and so it was full of excitement, anxiety and
anticipation. We all wanted to do our best job and I hope you like what you see
on your television screens. The initial moments of stepping on to the sets for
the first time did have me feeling butterflies in my stomach, but before I knew
it, I was laughing and joking with my first contestant. It was a great feeling
when we actually began shooting the first episode... All the months that I…we…
had been rehearsing and working for finally lay before us and at the end of it I
felt really really good.
I've had a great time meeting with people and my contestants have been nothing
short of brilliant. They have shared so much of themselves with me and I feel
honoured to know that they trust me. In tonight's episode, I get to spend time
with last season's rollover contestant Prasenjit Sarkar. Prasenjit had been
waiting for this moment for a year now and I have no clue how he has survived
it. If I was in his place, the KBC crew would have been so fed up of me that I
would have become a “roll out” contestant and not "rollover".
I also have a little treat lined up for you. Just before the first episode goes
on air tonight, we will be premiering my KBC video just for you. This was
definitely a first for me as I have never done a music video before. I used to
finish my KBC shoots and then quickly run across from Film City to Filmistan to
finish up the music video through the night. So in a way, yes, I have spent the
first week as KBC host having sleepless nights...
I do hope you have as much fun seeing KBC as I have had recording it. Do let me
know your thoughts on the programme… I would love to hear from you. I promise to
come back very soon and talk to you but only if you promise that I will get to
see you tonight and back on kbclive.com very soon...
Main aapka intezar kar raha hoon!
